Eugene Wang qualified and Zhang Mo (now age 27, played in both Beijing & London Olympic) still has a shot.
Listed at no.67 on the current Men’s World Rankings, the 30 year old Wang is the highest rated player on duty in the Men’s Singles event at the forthcoming 2016 ITTF-North America Olympic Games Qualification Tournament.
Lily Zhang secured her spot today as the 2nd US player in the 3-spot North American entry to Rio.
“My advice is to have passion for what you do,” she affirmed. “Passion will allow you to achieve anything.” – Lily Zhang
Defeat for Zhang Mo but the door is not closed; one place remains for North America in the Women’s Singles event at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and by definition that must go to a Canadian; no National Olympic Committee may field more than two players in the singles events in Rio de Janeiro
