雖然目前乒乓球並非加國主流運動﹐但是昨天的賽事仍能吸引加拿大羅渣士電視公司派出十多人的拍攝隊現場拍攝。有識之士告訴記者﹐這反映了乒乓球已有愈來愈多加拿大人參與﹐不限於華人﹐影響擴大﹐主流傳媒也開始重視。
除了努力舉辦一流國際比賽﹐提升加國乒乓球水平外﹐加拿大華人乒乓球協會還積極向社區推廣乒乓球﹐例如在過去兩年，贊助香港7間大學安省校友會聯手舉辦的「香港盃」乒乓球友誼賽。
今年的七大乒乓球友誼賽，將於7月7日(周日)在該會場館舉行﹐是次場地則由協平嘉德贊助。
